A peaceful, bright living room in a comfortable home
Good local people

Your home matters. So does the person you let inside.

When something goes wrong at home, you're not just looking for someone with tools. You're looking for a decent person. Someone who listens when you explain the problem, treats your home with respect, tells you the truth about what needs fixing, charges fairly, and cleans up. Someone you'd feel comfortable having in your kitchen, basement or living room.

Many good local tradespeople work exactly this way. They're not big companies. They're local plumbers, heating technicians and air conditioning professionals who care about their work and their customers. But they're not always the first people you find online, because they're busy doing the work — fixing leaking pipes, getting furnaces running again, repairing air conditioners, helping homeowners get back to normal. They're not spending their time building websites, buying ads or competing to appear first on Google. So the bigger companies often get the calls. Valley Home Fix exists to help change that.

We always have a tech or contractor in your area.

How it works

Getting help shouldn't be another headache.

When something breaks, you don't want a complicated process. You want someone to listen, understand what's happening, and help you find the right person to talk to.

01 / Tell us

Tell us what's happening at home

Call Valley Home Fix. Explain the problem in your own words. We'll also ask which city you're in, in Greater Vancouver or the Fraser Valley. You don't need to know the technical terms.

02 / Connect

We help you reach someone local

We put you in contact with an independent local plumber, heating technician or air conditioning contractor. If the contractor needs to return your call, timing may vary.

03 / Decide

You understand the work before deciding

The contractor can talk through the problem, explain what needs doing and tell you the price before work starts. You can ask questions and take the time you need to decide. If you choose to go ahead, you pay the contractor directly — not Valley Home Fix. It's your home. The decision is yours.

Each independent contractor is responsible for holding the credentials, licences and qualifications required for the work. Valley Home Fix does not verify or guarantee those credentials.

Call Valley Home Fix
Why this approach

It's your home. You should feel comfortable with who's working in it.

1. A decent, honest person in your home

You want a person who listens, behaves professionally, does honest work and cleans up after themselves.

2. Price before work starts

You should understand what the contractor proposes to do and what they're charging before you agree. Ask what's included and what might cost extra.

3. You decide, without pressure

It's your home and your money. Talking to a contractor doesn't mean you have to hire them.

4. Plain words, no jargon

You shouldn't have to understand complicated plumbing or HVAC terminology to make a decision.

5. You pay the person doing the work

You pay the independent contractor directly for the work you agree to. Not Valley Home Fix.

6. Your home treated with respect

Your kitchen isn't just a work area. Your home is where you and your family live. It's reasonable to expect care around your belongings and a clean finish.

A clear note about contractor responsibility: Valley Home Fix helps homeowners get in contact with independent local contractors. Each contractor is responsible for holding the credentials, licences and qualifications required for the work. Valley Home Fix does not verify, vet, screen or guarantee those credentials. You can ask a contractor about their qualifications and applicable licences before hiring them.

Is something happening that could put your home or family in danger?

Some situations shouldn't wait for an ordinary service call.

  • Water spreading quickly or a pipe has burst? If you can do so safely, shut off the water at the nearest shut-off valve or your home's main water shut-off. Stay away from water near electrical outlets, wiring or appliances. Call an emergency plumber directly. Do not wait for a Valley Home Fix return call.
  • Smell gas or rotten eggs? Leave the building immediately. Don't operate light switches, use phones inside, smoke, light matches or do anything that could create a spark. Once safely outside, call FortisBC at 1-800-663-9911 or 911. Do not go back inside until emergency personnel say it's safe.
  • Carbon monoxide alarm sounding? Get everyone outside into fresh air. Call 911 from outside. Do not re-enter until emergency personnel tell you it's safe.

Valley Home Fix's regular call number is not an emergency response service. Do not wait for a callback in an emergency.
